Willard L. Shanklin



Eureka- Willard L. Shanklin, 83, of Eureka, IL passed away at
5:47 pm on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Eureka Apostolic
Christian Home where he had been a resident. He was born on October
26, 1929 in rural Toluca, IL a son of Walter and Elsie Holz
Shanklin. He married Rosalee M. Cave on September 7, 1958 in
Streator, IL. She survives.



Also surviving are one son, Richard (Vicki) Shanklin of Toluca,
IL; one daughter, Sharon (Gregory) Breuer of Jefferson City, MO;
two grandchildren, Jacque and Tim Breuer; two sisters, Elaine
Montgomery of Peoria, IL; Doris Jean (F. Lee) Hull of Fresno, CA;
and five brothers, Wayne Shanklin of Toluca, IL; Dr. Kenneth
(Colleen) Shanklin of San Antonio, TX; Roger (Sheila) Shanklin of
Lexington, IL; Robert Shanklin of Toluca, IL; and James Shanklin of
Varna, IL.



He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dean
Shanklin.



Willard worked as a farmer in rural Eureka most of his life. He
drove a school bus for Eureka School District #140 for over 37
years.



He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as Staff Sergeant during the
Korean Conflict.



Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November
29, 2012 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Pastor
Jennie Churchman will officiate. Visitation will be held on
Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Cremation rites
will be accorded.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's
Association or the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home. Online
